Councilors and Shire Staff will be in Rawson’s Dunstan Pavilion (home of the Rawson Cricket Club) from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday 12th December. Residents are invited to pop in and meet the Baw Baw Shire Council team who will also be happy to discuss any issues of concern. The visit is part of Council’s rural outreach initiative and is intended to assist anybody dealing with Council from remote locations such as Erica, Rawson and Walhalla.
After nearly 5 years of serving up great coffee and wonderful meals from their Walhalla Coffee and Kitchen, Dan and Jess have sold their business and will be looking for new adventures. The Erica and District Historical Society will have their newly renovated showroom open from 10:00 am on Sunday 3 November. On offer is a fine collection of bargain priced clothing, bric-a-brac, books, DVDs and other country treasures. Find them at 1a Pinnacle Drive in Rawson, near the Police Station. At its meeting on Wednesday 13 November the Baw Baw Council will discuss approval of Erica’s Placemaking program which is intended to enhance the identity of the township and improve information signage. The proposed works include
At a special community meeting held in the Erica Memorial Hall on 15 October, a new Erica Community Facilities Committee of Management (ECFCoM) was formed. At the Committee’s AGM on 20 August 2019, none of the previous committee wished to be reelected.
On Friday 8 November Red Cross will present the internationally acclaimed Pillowcase Project at Rawson Primary School.
Following a review of the fires that impacted the area in early 2019, the Rawson Primary School has been advised by the Department of Education and Training that a School Relocation Plan must be developed for use during high fire risk days. Although yet to be signed off by the DET Regional Director and School Council, it is expected that local pupils will need to relocate to another school site at such times. Families will be advised by the school when details of the school’s response have been finalized.
The 2019 AGM of the Erica and District Historical Society Inc will be held in their premises at 1/1a Pinnacle Drive Rawson, commencing at 9:00 am on Wednesday 13 November 2019.
