Skating forward

Rawson’s new recreation area is now very dominant in the town centre. Earthworks and early concreting have given us part-time external supervisors some idea of what is being developed for locals and visitors.

When finished in late June the $484 000 project will provide a multi-play activity area with recreational vehicle parking. Regional Development Victoria have contributed $322 782 toward the project cost, with the balance of $161 391 coming from Baw Baw Council’s Capital Works program.

As well as the dominant skatepark elements, there will be a three-point line basketball court, tennis hit-up wall, picnic shelter and tables, drinking fountains, a grassed kick-about area and disability friendly access.
